About Alan Wheeler
Alan Wheeler is owner and founder of Coastal Design Builders. He has over 25 years of experience creating new home design plans with homeowners to build a custom home or remodeling project. His unique turnkey approach involves taking the home construction project from beginning to end by working closely with the homeowners to transform their vision into a dream home design. Homeowners can come to Alan with just an idea and he will help them obtain blueprints and layouts necessary to begin work. His knowledge of home construction allows him to mentor homebuyers throughout the construction process.
The lure of the Lowcountry moved Alan to Charleston, South Carolina area in 2006, after years of building custom homes in Greensboro, North Carolina. Alan is a frequent speaker at the Charleston "Custom Homes & Remodeling" show and provides regular technical advice to industry publications.
Giving back is an important mission for Alan. He participated in the Greenville Flood Recovery Program and has traveled to Honduras to assist with Habitat for Humanity.
